What is a House Church?
A house church is a group of believer’s who meet in homes for fellowship, meals, study and worship. House church members share their lives with one another through a more informal approach to discipleship, serve together to minister to people around them, and are intentional in reaching out to others sharing the gospel through relationships. The environment is a more intimate, familial-like setting, and follows the example in the Bible of a New Testament Church (Acts 2:42-47, and Matt 28:16-20 ).
A house church is a completly different environment if you are used to going to a traditional church building. The format of the service itself is much more flexible, and relaxed. Meeting on two days a week in a building for a message and worship still happens, but it is in an informal manner in a home, and house churches tend to be more personal than larger churches.
